The Russians came! What an opportunity to share with the 11 Russian insurance executives and their interpreter about the National Association of Health Underwriters and the benefits for agents.  NAHU provided us a most informative PowerPoint  "Who We Are and What We Do" which was presented by Tim Walsh and Hughes Waren.  Sam Carr brought Natasha Singur, a Russian Wilmington resident, to the delight of our visitors. The Russians do have a base universal health plan with supplemental insurance that can be purchased.  If you are a government doctor in Russia, you and teachers are the lowest paid professions according to our guests.  Having the opportunity to ask questions and learn about their healthcare system was quite informative and eye-opening.  And they gave us souvenirs. A big thank you goes to all who attended the training, those named above along with Connette Bradley,  Dennis Stokley and Sherri Miller from our board, and Amanda Smith from our general membership.

 

Volunteers are needed for the Tileston Health Clinic, Inc. We are currently updating their patient database so if you can type we need you. Amanda Smith and Dennis Stokley are volunteering during a 2 hour shift on Tuesdays from 3 to 5pm and 5 to 7pm.  Connette Bradley is volunteering on Wednesday evenings assisting the Dentists during the Dental Clinic.  With the recent move to 1606 Doctors Circle we need more volunteers to help set up the new dental clinic, health clinic and pharmacy.  Give me a call if you have any questions or to see where and when you can volunteer.  Call for additional information (910) 256-2350 or sent an email to gstokley@bellsouth.net
